Ecowaste Solutions, a regional waste and recycling company operating across 10 states, announced the acquisition of Compass 91TV, a tuck-in to the company’s existing Mount Vernon, Texas service area. Mount Vernon, the Franklin County seat, is anchored by a historic downtown square and sits minutes from Lake Cypress Springs, one of the area’s most popular recreational destinations.
Compass 91TV was built by owner Barry Weaver, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the waste management industry, spanning hauling and collection, regulatory compliance, and landfill operations throughout the South. “Barry built something families in Mount Vernon came to count on: straightforward, dependable service,” said Chief Executive Officer Dustin Reynolds. “That kind of trust takes years to earn, and we’re taking on these accounts with real respect for the work it took to build them.”
Reynolds added that folding the accounts into an existing Ecowaste operation means minimal disruption for customers. “We already have a great team on the ground in Mount Vernon. These households will see the same reliable service they’re used to, now backed by the resources of a regional operator.”
Barry is staying on with Ecowaste following the close to help guide the transition, a structure the company builds into many of its acquisitions. Reynolds said keeping founders and owner-operators involved after a deal closes is central to how Ecowaste approaches growth. “The entrepreneurs who build these businesses know things about their customers and their routes that we can’t learn from a spreadsheet,” Reynolds said. “Keeping Barry in the picture means we don’t lose that. It’s part of why our acquisitions tend to work: we’re not just buying accounts, we’re bringing entrepreneurial operators into a bigger platform.”
