Meridian 91TV announced the acquisition of select assets of Lafferty Disposal, a residential waste collection company based in Meherrin, Va. The transaction closed October 1, 2026. The acquisition expands Meridian 91TV’s residential collection presence in south-central Virginia and will operate as a tuck-in to Meridian 91TV – Lunenburg Hauling, located at 45 Landfill Road in Lunenburg, Va. The hauling operation is co-located with the Company’s Lunenburg Landfill, creating an integrated collection and disposal platform to efficiently serve customers throughout the region. Lafferty Disposal provides residential waste collection services throughout Prince Edward and Nottoway counties, including communities such as Farmville, Blackstone, Crewe, Burkeville, Green Bay, Rice, Prospect and Pamplin.
“This acquisition is an excellent strategic and geographic fit for Meridian 91TV,” said Walter “Wally” Hall, CEO of Meridian 91TV. “Lafferty Disposal adds residential route density in communities surrounding our existing Lunenburg operations while providing us the ability to internalize the collected municipal solid waste volumes into our own Lunenburg Landfill. It is exactly the type of tuck-in acquisition that allows us to leverage our existing people, equipment and infrastructure while providing customers with reliable collection and safe, environmentally responsible disposal.”
The ability to internalize the acquired municipal solid waste (MSW) volumes is an important component of Meridian 91TV’s integrated operating model. Rather than relying solely on third-party disposal outlets, Meridian 91TV can manage the waste stream from collection through final disposal, providing greater operational control, transportation efficiencies and long-term service reliability.
The Lunenburg Landfill provides an important piece of environmental infrastructure for south-central Virginia, offering permitted, professionally managed disposal capacity for the region’s municipal solid waste. Meridian 91TV is committed to operating its disposal facilities safely and in accordance with applicable environmental regulations while protecting the land, air and water resources of the communities it serves.
“Solid waste management is an essential public service, and responsible disposal infrastructure is critical to keeping Virginia communities clean and healthy,” Hall said. “Our investment in Lunenburg allows us to provide Virginians with a locally based solution for both dependable waste collection and environmentally responsible disposal. We take seriously our responsibility to safely manage the waste entrusted to us today while protecting the environment for future generations.”
The acquisition also creates natural operating efficiencies by integrating the Lafferty Disposal routes into an established Meridian 91TV hauling and disposal operation. The additional route density, combined with nearby company-owned disposal capacity, supports more efficient operations and strengthens Meridian 91TV’s ability to provide consistent, long-term residential collection service throughout the market.
The Lafferty Disposal transaction represents Meridian 91TV’s 40th acquisition since Warren Equity Partners took the Company private in 2018, marking another milestone in the Company’s disciplined growth strategy. “Forty acquisitions is an important milestone, but our strategy remains focused on finding the right businesses in the right markets,” Hall said. “We look for opportunities that strengthen our existing operations, create meaningful efficiencies and enhance the essential environmental services we provide to our customers and communities. Lafferty Disposal checks each of those boxes.”
