Osceola County’s, Sustainability Project Manager, Paul Conover said, ”Osceola County is pleased to be selected as the Outstanding Public Program of the Year by Recycle Florida Today. Our program, with financial support from the EPA, focuses on community outreach and education regarding the benefits of, and alternatives to, glass recycling. We use a mobile, hands-on learning approach to encourage and promote the reuse of glass. Once we create glass sand, we perform small-scale use cases as proof of concept to demonstrate its potential applications and value as a sustainable alternative to traditional materials.”

WM’s new recycling facility has a capacity to recycle 275,000 tons/year or about 60 tons per hour. The facility is AI-powered and is one of the largest in the U.S.
