The Tennessee Recycling Coalition spotlights special awards and recognitions achieved by two TRC interns and presented at the recent Tennessee Sustainability Conference. Twin sisters Autumn and Abbie Greene were honored for their dedication to environmental conservation.
Autumn Greene, a senior at Chester County High School, was presented this year’s Bob Fletcher Memorial Award Scholarship. Autumn has served as a summer intern at Tennessee Recycling Coalition. She plans to major in Wildlife Biology and Zoology. The late Bob Fletcher was a highly regarded environmental consultant with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation who went above and beyond his job role every day to help others in the industry. The award was presented by Bob’s daughter Alexis Fletcher-Biggs. Bob’s widow Betty and daughter Ashland were also present.
Abbie Greene, twin sister to Autumn, recently had the opportunity to share her experience growing up in the environmental industry as the daughter of TRC’s Executive Director Amber Greene. Most recently, Abbie participated in Lights, Camera, Fashion, an annual high school prom runway fashion show created to make a difference by fundraising for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through her fundraising efforts, Abbie received a $3,000 donation from Meridian 91TV to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
