The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) announces that nominations are now open for the 3rd year of the APR Recycling Leadership Awards, which celebrate the people and companies who are shaping the future of plastics recycling. Winners will be announced during the 2027 Plastics Recycling Conference (PRC), where PRC, Resource Recycling Conference, and Textiles Recovery Summit will be held concurrently under one roof—uniting the plastics, textiles and full recycling value chain industry for collaboration and connection.
Recipients will join an elite group of past APR Recycling Leadership Award winners and gain national industry recognition, exposure to the 2,000+ PRC attendees, and the opportunity to showcase their work at the trade show. The APR Recycling Leadership Award categories focus on unique achievements of individuals and organizations who are taking great strides in improving plastics recyclability and include:
- Outstanding Leadership: Celebrating those going above and beyond to adopt recyclable packaging within their field.
- Processor of the Year: Honoring a material recovery facility (MRF) or reclaimer driving improvements in plastics recycling.
- Package Design Innovation: Recognizing creative materials and packages unlocking the future of recycling.
- Post-Consumer Recycled Content (PCR) Utilization: Awarding companies demonstrating a powerful commitment to the utilization of PCR.
“We continue to face significant challenges across the plastics recycling industry, making leadership and innovation more important than ever,” said Steve Alexander, APR President & CEO. “These awards recognize the people and companies who are finding solutions, improving recycling, and helping move the industry forward. We’re proud to celebrate their contributions and the progress being made across the plastics value chain.”
The deadline for nominations is Thursday, December 31, 2026. Both self-nominations and nominations of others are accepted. APR membership is not required to submit a nomination or to be nominated for an APR Recycling Leadership Award.
