The US Composting Council (USCC) has opened Early Bird Registration for its 35th Annual Conference and Trade Show, COMPOST2027, taking place February 1–4, 2027, at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
Under the theme “Deep Roots, Bright Future: Supporting Compost for 35 Years,” COMPOST2027 will celebrate 35 years of bringing the composting community together to learn, connect, exchange ideas, and advance the industry.
USCC held its first annual conference in 1992. Since then, the event has grown alongside the composting and organics recycling industry, becoming the largest gathering of composting professionals in North America. Today, the conference brings together compost manufacturers and operators, municipalities, equipment and technology providers, researchers, policymakers, consultants, and other professionals working across the organics recycling sector.
“For 35 years, this conference has provided a place for the composting community to come together around the challenges, opportunities, and innovations shaping our industry,” says USCC Executive Director Linda Norris-Waldt. “COMPOST2027 gives us an opportunity to celebrate that history while looking ahead to the people and ideas that will shape the next 35 years.”
More than 1,500 composting and organics recycling professionals are expected to gather in Jacksonville for four days of education, networking, and hands-on learning. Attendees will hear from 100-plus industry speakers; explore the latest equipment, products, and services in the trade show hall; connect with professionals from across the industry; and see composting equipment and technology in action during live demonstrations at Demo Day.
This year’s show features a new registration offering, the Compost Operator Pass, created in response to feedback from compost facility managers and production staff seeking more hands-on, in-the-field learning opportunities. The pass includes Wednesday conference sessions, including the Operator Session; access to the Trade Show Hall and Wednesday Closing Reception; the Live Equipment Demonstration Show; and Demo Day Under the Hood, a series of small-group, operator-focused toolbox talks covering common problems and solutions for operating, maintaining, and getting the most out of commercial compost manufacturing equipment.
Early Bird Registration is open through November 25, 2026, offering attendees the opportunity to save on registration for COMPOST2027. Additional special attendance discounts are available to government employees and students. If you work for a municipality, you are eligible for 30% off registration costs. For eligible full-time students who would like to attend COMPOST2027, fill the pre-registration form for 60% off conference registration.
USCC is also offering scholarships of up to $1,500 to help offset the costs of attending COMPOST2027, including travel to Jacksonville and lodging for up to three nights. Scholarship recipients will also receive conference registration. Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need and those whose work expands access to composting in areas or communities where access is limited.Scholarship applications will remain open until November 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
As COMPOST2027 marks its 35th year, the conference will honor the people, progress, and innovation that have shaped the composting industry while creating space for conversations about where the industry goes next.
