The Federation of New York Solid 91TV Associations is now accepting abstracts for its 2027 Conference with Trade Show, to be held May 16-19, 2027 at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, NY.
A Program Built Around Recycling
The 2027 program will spotlight recycling, following requests in the 2026 post-conference survey. Attendees asked to hear from national experts about advances in processing technology, improving recycling rates, reducing contamination, market development, and commodity prices, all to help them meet their programs’ materials management goals.
Have an innovative program or improved process to share with hundreds of your peers? Abstracts of up to 250 words will be accepted through Dec. 4, 2026, and may cover any topic related to materials management, including waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, product stewardship, energy-from-waste, and landfilling operations (see the full list of potential topics on the following page). Presentations that connect recycling and engineering and may qualify for professional engineer (PE) credit will receive immediate consideration, reflecting strong attendee demand. Technical presentations on exhibitor products are also encouraged. Submit through the Conference website.
Session Formats
The Conference continues its expanded program of three full days of technical sessions. Each breakout session typically features up to three presentations of about 30 minutes, including Q&A. The Federation also welcomes proposals for structured discussions between a moderator and up to three expert panelists with diverse perspectives on an industry topic.
New for 2027, up to ten abstracts may be selected for poster sessions, an interactive format in which presenters share academic or professional work through printed or digital displays. Posters will be on view in the Conference Center on Monday and Tuesday through noon. A panel of judges will then select three to be presented in full at the Wednesday morning breakout session.
Each year, the Conference with Trade Show draws national attention and hundreds of attendees, serving as a forum for learning and discussion on the most pressing issues facing solid waste and recycling professionals in New York and across the country. Held at The Sagamore, a historic four-diamond resort on Lake George, the event attracts up to 600 participants from the Northeast, Midwest, and South, as well as Canada and Europe. With abundant networking opportunities, newcomers are a steady presence: about 20 percent of attendees are first-time participants.
