The Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation (FRPF) announces its 2026 Recycling Champions, honoring ten organizations for programs that advance recycling, responsible materials management and community education. “Over the years, we have presented more than 30 Recycling Champion Awards to businesses, local governments and nonprofits that are making a difference in Florida,” said Keyna Cory, Executive Director of the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation. “This year’s honorees show how creative thinking and strong partnerships can expand recycling opportunities and inspire others to take action.”

The awards recognize achievements in three categories: Business, Local Governments & Public Agencies, and Nonprofits. All recipients will be honored during Florida Recycles Day on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at the University of Florida TREEO Center in Gainesville.

The 2026 Recycling Champions are:

Business

  • Coca-Cola Beverages Florida — for its Circular Economy Program and closed-loop recycling initiative.
  • Niagara Bottling — for its Zero 91TV Program.
  • WM — for its investment in recycling infrastructure through its new South Florida recycling facility.

Local Governments & Public Agencies

  • Hillsborough County Solid 91TV Management Department — for its “Fire Prevention & Battery Recovery Campaign.”
  • Seminole County Solid 91TV — for its “Recycling Is The Natural Choice” program.
  • Indian River County — for its innovative vape collection program.
  • North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District — for its creative reuse and community education initiative distributing plant-based fire helmets to children.

Nonprofits

  • Goodwill Industries of South Florida — for its “Hospitality & Cruise Mattress Recycling Program,” in partnership with WM and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
  • Goodwill Industries-Suncoast — for its plastic film recycling program.
  • Goodwill Industries of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast — for its “The Breakers Palm Beach Responsible Recycling & Repurposing Partnership.”

Together, these Recycling Champions demonstrate the many ways organizations can strengthen recycling in Florida from battery recovery and specialized collection programs to creative reuse, infrastructure investments and partnerships. Their efforts offer examples that other businesses, communities and organizations can adapt to expand their own recycling programs.

Hosted by FRPF and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Recycles Day brings together business leaders, local governments, recycling professionals, educators and students to explore recycling innovations and share successful practices.
