The NERC community accomplished an extraordinary amount together this past year. From launching innovative resources to expanding foundational programs, our shared goal remains steadfast: to provide tangible value for anyone seeking to learn, collaborate, and innovate across the sustainable materials management ecosystem.

Thanks to the active engagement of members and partners, FY2026 was a year of significant reach and key milestones:

Expanded Reach & Engagement: More than doubled attendance across 15 webinars and industry forums while maintaining strong participant feedback. Additionally, 114 individuals across 54 state and advisory member organizations actively served on our committees and workgroups.

Core Policy & Market Resources: Published major regional tools—including the Northeast Policy Guide, Northeast Flow of Glass Report, and Post-Consumer Demand Hub—to guide state policy alignment and strengthen circular supply chains, alongside piloting the Northeast Sustainable Materials Career Program in partnership with ReMA and six university partners.

Professional Education & Convenings: Welcomed 200 attendees to the Rethink Resource Use Conference in Boston (with 98% reporting high value) and launched two specialized training courses with RRS and Resource Recycling to deliver practical, regional skill-building.

“This past year showcased the true power of regional collaboration. From setting attendance records at our Rethink Resource Use Conference to launching groundbreaking workforce and policy initiatives with regional partners, NERC continues to sharpen its focus on actionable solutions. I am deeply proud of our board, staff, and state members for driving measurable progress across the Northeast and laying the groundwork for a truly resilient, circular economy,” said Michael Nork, NERC President, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.
